There are 3 straw colors in layers: a brown band at the bottom, a beige band in the middle, then a pale yellow band. The top is a circle of the same brown straw as the bottom band. To finish this elegant look, there is a beige colored ostrich feather attached around the brim and projecting backwards. There is a small brown bow made of velour at one side of the hat. An elastic band is attached to the inside to keep the hat in place. Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves.
